Boats against the current

Marble

ABOUT THE WORK

Borrowing the closing sentence of The Great Gatsby — 'So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past'; this series of work was conceptualised to reflect upon a condition of limitations.

Small broken pieces of stones were shaped to become restless orbs, and the 21 fragmented negative spaces linked up to read 'Boats against the current'.
