Speedwell

Sculpture made of scaffolding, aluminium discs and LED lightbulbs / 63m x 6m
Video documentation / 6:30 mins

ABOUT THE WORK

Speedwell uses the language of illuminated text to ask complex questions. Using three words (NO, NEW, WORLDS) it asks us to examine our damaged planet, and how we have reached this pivotal moment in its history. It questions the historic conceit of a ‘New World’ and asks us to imagine new worlds of living, caring and dying well together.

Made as part of artist collective Still/Moving with fellow artists Léonie and Martin Hampton Re-informed - Mayflower Website.
