ABOUT THE WORK
Once Across the Bridge is a short film made in June 2020 during confinement in my neighbourhood. Forest, sea, monster and animals at night captured with a very low-fi camera and edited in my bathroom. I wanted to let fear appear and let her speak her muted language.
REFLECTION
I wanted to work on a current project, video and sound performance postponed due to COVID-19. Although I was leaving Singapore soon, new remote and online techniques would allow me to finalise this film from overseas over the next few months. But at the last minute, I changed my mind, and did this very short film with the help of a dear neighbour. Even in confined solitude, we can do much together.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Cecile is a film editor, sound designer, documentary and experimental filmmaker, photographer and lecturer. She has worked with many renowned movers and shakers of the film industry in France, Brazil and many other countries. She makes films on Sunday mornings and exhibitions and performances in the afternoons.
Cecile was a lecturer at LASALLE's Puttnam School of Film & Animation from January 2016 to June 2020.
